Invercargill has once again lit up with festive spirit as the winners of three major Christmas competitions were announced, bringing colour, joy and community connection to the city this holiday season.

Get Festive Invercargill 2025 saw more than 1,000 public votes cast to determine the standout storefront displays.
First place and the $2,000 Workplace Shout prize went to The Cosmetic Clinic - Invercargill.
Second place was awarded to Les Sheikh Hair Design, earning a $1,000 Workplace Shout.
Third place went to Flight Centre New Zealand Invercargill, who received a $500 Workplace Shout.
“A huge congratulations to these businesses for their creativity and festive flair – and to ALL participating stores for making our city shine!” event organisers said.
As part of the public engagement, five voters also won $100 Prezzy Cards, with winners contacted directly by email.

Meanwhile, the Murihiku Christmas Tree Festival hosted by ILKT Stadium Southland wrapped up another successful season, turning the city into a wonderland of trees decorated with heart and purpose.
La Muse, supporting the Otago Southland Helicopter Trust, took first place.
Relay For Life, backed by the Waihopai City Lions Relay For Life fundraising team, placed second, and third place went to Southern Automobiles supporting Youthline Southland.
Event organisers expressed their thanks, saying: “A huge congratulations to our top three trees and their chosen charities—what an amazing effort! And an even bigger thank you to all the fantastic businesses who joined in to make this event so magical.”

The Professionals Invercargill Christmas Lights competition also lit up the region, showcasing stunning residential displays.

Invercargill’s festive competitions continue to grow in popularity each year, bringing communities together and highlighting the spirit of the season in creative and meaningful ways.
