Invercargill Central is marking its 4th Birthday on Tuesday 14 July with a day of celebration, shopper surprises and centre-wide Golden Ticket moments designed to bring a little extra excitement to the community.
Throughout the day, shoppers may receive a Birthday Golden Ticket with their purchase at participating stores. Every Golden Ticket is redeemable for a prize, all prizes packaged in sealed envelopes for customers to open on the spot.
Golden Ticket moments will take place at selected times throughout the day, creating bursts of excitement as shoppers move through the centre. Some retailers may also offer their own instant treats, adding a few extra surprises for customers.

The birthday celebration is also an opportunity to recognise the people who have helped make Invercargill Central what it is today. The continued support of the Southland community and the commitment of the centre's retailers have been at the heart of its success over the past four years.
Invercargill Central Manager Kelvin Mooney said the milestone is about giving back to the people who have supported the centre since it opened.
"Four years is a milestone we're incredibly proud of, and it's our customers, retailers and wider community who have made Invercargill Central what it is today. This celebration is our way of saying thank you for being part of our journey and our success. The Golden Ticket activation is a fun way to share a little joy and celebrate together."
The celebrations will continue into the afternoon with complimentary birthday cupcakes, giving shoppers another chance to join in the festivities.

Since opening its doors on 14 July 2022, Invercargill Central has played a significant role in the city's transformation. The development followed one of the largest CBD redevelopments in Southland's history, involving the demolition of 43 buildings while retaining several heritage facades, including the former Southland Times frontage. Construction began in 2020, uncovering archaeological artefacts and incorporating a time capsule that will be opened in 2072.
The 4th Birthday celebration will run throughout the day on Tuesday 14 July, during normal trading hours from 9.00am to 9.00pm.
