An Invercargill resident has struck it lucky, winning $1 million with Lotto First Division in Saturday night’s live draw. The winning ticket was sold online through MyLotto.
A Lotto NZ spokesperson said, “One lucky Lotto player from Invercargill will be in for a treat after winning $1 million with Lotto First Division in tonight’s live Lotto draw.”
Powerball was not won this weekend, which means the prize pool has rolled over. The jackpot will now sit at $12 million for Wednesday night’s draw. Strike Four has also rolled over and will be worth $400,000.
Lotto NZ has urged all players who bought their tickets on MyLotto to check them as soon as possible – either online, via the app or in-store.
The big win capped off an exciting week for Lotto players in Southland. Thirteen players across the country matched the numbers for Lotto Second Division, each taking home $19,526. Among them were three Southlanders, continuing the region’s lucky streak.
The Second Division winning tickets in Southland were sold at Te Anau Four Square, Plaza Supervalue Invercargill, and through the MyLotto app.
This follows a win earlier in the week when another local ticket, sold at Woolworths Invercargill, scored $17,336 in Wednesday night’s draw.
With multiple wins across Southland this week, Lotto NZ said the region has been particularly fortunate lately.
