- Clyde Street in Invercargill will be closed southbound for resurfacing repairs on 16 and 17 July
- Several state highway sites in Southland will have lane drops, detours or stop/go controls
- Contractors and events will also affect traffic with short closures and managed diversions in place
Motorists in Invercargill and Southland are being advised to expect delays this week, with several state highways undergoing maintenance or affected by third-party contractor works.
Southbound closure on SH1 Clyde St on Wednesday 16th July for surfacing repairs:
- Light vehicles detour via Earn/Nith streets
- Heavy vehicles coming from the Bond St bypass detour via Clyde St (northbound direction)/Crinan Street/Nith St
This work will take place from 9am-7pm on Wednesday 16th July (rain date 17th July)
Additional works will impact SH1 in two other areas. Between Nith Street and Grace Street, a full southbound closure will remain in place. From Tay Street to Eye Street, a lane drop will be enforced.
In Mossburn, at the SH94/SH97 intersection, temporary stop/go traffic controls will remain active due to ongoing work by Highways South.
Stop/stop traffic management on SH1 Edendale-Woodlands highway near Homestead Road on Wednesday 16th July. Stop/stop traffic management will be in place during the day for hedge removal and rock work, expect delays.
Third-party contractors are also managing works this week across multiple SH1 sites in Gore:
- Between Racecourse Road and Saleyards Road, stop/go traffic management is in place.
- Between Falconer Road and Racecourse Road, stop/go traffic remains active.
- On Gore Main Street between Mersey Street and Medway Street, a short northbound closure will take place on Thursday 17 July from 9pm. This will last less than an hour. A detour will be available via Mersey Street East, River Street, and back to SH1. Southbound traffic will not be affected.
