Invercargill’s Lotto luck has continued this week, with one local player scooping a $14,460 prize in Lotto Second Division. The winning ticket was bought at New World Elles Road and was one of 14 tickets that scored the same amount in Wednesday night’s live Lotto draw.
It’s another win for the Southland region, which has seen a string of Lotto successes over recent months. The highlight came in June, when a massive Powerball First Division prize of $15.08 million was claimed by an Invercargill player.
That ticket was sold at Plaza Supervalue and included $15 million from Powerball and $83,333 from Lotto First Division. The same draw also saw a Wellington player win an identical prize through MyLotto.
This week’s draw also brought joy to two more Lotto First Division winners, who each took home $500,000. The winning tickets were purchased in Huntly and Palmerston North.
Although Powerball was not struck on Wednesday night, the jackpot has now rolled over and is set to reach $6 million for the upcoming Saturday draw. Strike Four has also rolled over and will offer a prize pool of $400,000 on Saturday.
In addition, one lucky player matched all numbers in Powerball Second Division and will be walking away with $26,940.
As always, Lotto NZ is encouraging players to check their tickets as soon as possible, either in-store or online.
