The first motor race meeting of the 2026/2027 season at Teretonga Park in Invercargill takes place over the weekend of 17/18 of October.
The Saturday action will feature the annual round of the South Island Endurance Series, this year with the added bonus of being the final round of the 2026 South Island Endurance Racing Championship while the 3-Hour race will also be the New Zealand Endurance Championship race.
As the Endurance Series comes south Invercargill driver Jordan Michels leads the One Hour Class 1 Championship after winning at Timaru and a second placing after a difficult weekend in the second round at Euromarque Motorsport Park at Ruapuna in Christchurch recently.
In the Three-Hour Championship local driver Glen Brazier teamed with Andrew Waite to win the 3-Hour race in Christchurch in their Lamborghini. The Christchurch round was the first of the 3-Hour Championship after Timaru was cancelled so Brazier and Waite lead that championship as it comes to Teretonga Park.
After the endurance racing action on Saturday, the following day Sunday 18 October, the Noel McIntyre Drainage Club Saloon Series commences with Pre 78 Classic Saloons also on the programme while a Regularity Trial will add a bit of variety to the line-up.
Tickets for Saturday's Endurance racing will be sold at the gate on the day while Sunday's programme features free admission to all.
