The Rotary Club of Invercargill will mark its 44th Book Sale over King’s Birthday weekend in 2025, continuing a long-standing tradition that has helped raise more than $1 million for local causes. This year’s sale will be held once again at the Scottish Hall, making it the second year since the popular event returned to this central Invercargill venue.

Jubilee Budget Advisory Service is the major recipient for proceeds from this year’s event.  Jubilee is  a community-based organisation that offers budgeting advice and financial education. The Rotary Club selected Jubilee as the major recipient to assist with meeting the growing demand for the support services they offer.

The sale is well known across Southland for its wide range of books, as well as puzzles, games, and DVDs, all donated. Rotary Book Sale Committee chairperson Richard Russell said the event has always been a “by community, for community” initiative.
