Southland rugby fans are gearing up for an exciting afternoon this Saturday as the SBS Bank Southland Stags take on Canterbury at Rugby Park in Invercargill. This match marks Southland’s first defence of the Ranfurly Shield in the current season, with expectations high and a strong crowd anticipated.

The match will be captained by loose forward Sean Withy, who will also mark a personal milestone by playing his blazer game for the province. The team will take the field wearing their club socks – a tradition that highlights the local roots of each player.
