With the holiday season here, we’re wrapping up another big year of stories and shared experiences. It’s almost time to flick the switch to autopilot for a well-deserved break.
To our incredible team – Mal, Aimee and Vincent – your dedication and passion make all the difference. You guys truly rock.
A special thank you as well to Robbie and Kelly, who have both moved on to new endeavours. Thanks for all the hard work, creativity and commitment you brought to What’s On Invers – it’s been appreciated more than you know.
As we head into 2026, change is very much part of the story. You either fear change or embrace it – and I’m well and truly living and breathing it as What’s On Invers continues to grow.
And to our valued readers, and especially our advertisers, thank you for being with us every step of the way. Your support and engagement mean the world to us.
October was a standout month and a real reminder of the trust our audience places in us. During the October storm, we were sitting at 47,095 followers, and I genuinely thought we might hit 50,000 by Christmas. Instead, our storm coverage saw us gain 2,500 new followers in just 24 hours, pushing us past 50,000 followers by the end of October.
It was a huge month for both the Facebook page and the website. Across our platforms, we recorded 5.7 million views — in a typical good month we usually see between 2–3 million. On whatsoninvers.nz, we clocked more than 500,000 page views and over 86,000 users for the month.
Those numbers don’t happen by accident. They reflect a community that turns to us when it matters most — for timely, trusted, local information — and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
From our crew to yours, we wish you a safe, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Stay safe on the roads.
Mike.
