Police and emergency services are attending a crash involving at least four vehicles on Bluff Highway, between Awarua Siding Road and Stanley Township Road.
The crash occurred at approximately 8.10am today.
One of the vehicles is currently blocking both lanes, and motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
"Towing vehicles have been called, but will take time to get to the scene," police confirmed.
At this stage, there have been no reports of injuries.
"SH1 Bluff Highway is closed just south of Motu Rimu Road – Motu Rimu Road is still accessible," the team stated.
Due to the crash location, no detour is available.
Authorities have assured the public, "The team will have the highway open as soon as possible."
