A Southland Lotto player is among four winners set to celebrate after each claiming $250,000 in Lotto First Division during Saturday night’s draw.

The Southland winner purchased their ticket online through MyLotto, joining other successful players from Hamilton, Tauranga, and Whanganui. The Hamilton ticket was sold at Dinsdale Lotto & Stationery, while the Whanganui winner bought their ticket at Four Square St Johns. Another winning entry was also sold online to a Tauranga player.

Meanwhile, a separate major prize was won in Rotorua, where a lucky Strike player secured $700,000 with Strike Four. The winning ticket for that prize was sold at Paper Plus Rotorua Central, adding to the region’s excitement following the draw.

Despite the significant wins, Powerball was not struck on the night. As a result, the jackpot has rolled over and will climb to $23 million for the next draw, scheduled for Wednesday evening. The growing prize pool is expected to attract strong interest from players across the country.

Lotto organisers are urging anyone who purchased tickets from the winning stores, or through MyLotto, to check their numbers as soon as possible. Tickets can be checked in-store, online via MyLotto, or using the MyLotto app.

There is also a slight change to the upcoming broadcast schedule. Due to T20 cricket coverage on TVNZ 1, Wednesday’s live Lotto draw will instead air on TVNZ 2 at 8.20pm.

With multiple winners already celebrating and a larger jackpot on the horizon, anticipation is building for the next draw. Players across New Zealand will be hoping to secure a share of the $23 million Powerball prize, while also chasing further Lotto First Division success.
