What’s On Invers has launched its first official mayoral poll today (Friday 29 August) after test poll in July. We’ve taken extra steps to make sure it’s one of the most secure community polls around.

We’ve invested several thousand dollars in a polling system that significantly reduces the chance of multiple voting or cheating. The system uses GPS technology to pinpoint your location, ensuring only Invercargill residents within the official voting boundary can take part. Your location data is not stored. Each person gets just one vote per IP address. Voting tip: “We recommend voting from a mobile phone, as our system has restrictions in place to stop multiple voting. Some laptops and PCs may not fully support these restrictions.”

To operate the poll, we’ve contracted Small Business Websites, who are overseeing the system on our behalf.

When casting your vote, make sure your location services are turned on, and don’t close your browser until you see the confirmation screen.

Voting is open now and will run until 7pm, Sunday 31st August.

This is your chance to have a say — so get involved and cast your vote today.
