It is with heavy hearts that Dawn passed away peacefully at the Arvida Care Centre, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, aged 85 years. Dearly loved wife of Fred and devoted friend of John Washington, loved mother and mother-in-law of Julie, David, Paul and Wendy (Australia), Maria and Brent Scammell (Winton). Adored Gran of Brodie and Kelsey, Jaimee and Tim, and Shaun; Mitchell and Jess, and Jacob. Great - Grandma of Lincoln, Neela, Bodhi, and Molly.

Rosary will be held in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 39 Melbourne Street, Queenstown, on Monday, 4 August at 5:00pm. Requiem Mass to celebrate the life of Dawn will be held in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, on Tuesday, 5 August, at 1:00pm, followed by light refreshments at the Queenstown Country Club, Club House, 420 Frankton Ladies Mile Highway. Due to restricted parking at St Joesph’s Church, there will be two buses leaving the Country Club Clubhouse at 11.45am to take people to the funeral and return. A graveside service will be held in the Waikaia Cemetery, on Wednesday, 6 August, at 2:00pm, followed by afternoon tea in the Waikaia Hotel. Sadly, we announce the passing of Ray on 10 January 2025, formally of Alexandra. Loved son of Muriel* and Gordon* Beker. Loved husband of Pepita Beker. Loved dad of Natasha (Perth), Jarna (Mataura). Brother and brother-in-law of Daphne and Cyril* Atkin, Madeline and John* Hone, Darwin* and Noelene Beker, Colleen and Robin Mahoney, Esta and Ken Connell, Isabell and Victor Sadlier (Perth), Irene and Barry* Matangi, Gordon and Kohu Beker (Brisbane), Ina and Poko* Tuatai (Rarotonga), and Patricia and Ray Ruffell. A burial of Ray’s ashes will be held at the Southland Crematorium, Garden of Rest on Sunday 3 August 2025, at 10:30am.

With deep sadness we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Zwaan at home on July 29. Dearly loved wife of the late Egbert (Bert). On 28th July, 2025 at Bupa Windsor Park Care Home, Gore. Rosalie passed away supported and loved by all her family; aged 91 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Jack, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Pam and Grant (Gore), Liz and Finn (Queenstown), Janene and Peter (Christchurch), Kerryn and Ross (Te Anau), Johnny and Sarah (Balfour), cherished Grandma and great Grandma of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. TILSON, Lorrain Vera (nee Kidd):
After a long health battle, Lorraine passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital on Saturday 26th July, aged 75. Loved wife of Neil, loved Mother and Mother in law of Dwayne and Caroline (Australia) Heidi and Lloyd (Wanaka). Nana of Chris, Taryn, Brydie, Sugar, Pippa and Albie. Cherished daughter of the late Hector and Irene. As per Lorraine’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and a celebration with close friends and family will be held at a later date. WADDELL, Lorraine:
15/12/1936 - 9/06/2025. Dave, Ewan, Shona and family appreciate and thank all the kind people for the messages, cards, food and beautiful flowers on our sudden loss of Lorraine. Thanks to Iris for the eulogy for Lorraine’s many years of service to East Invercargill Rural Women and valued convenor for 40 years of Meals on Wheels. She will be sadly missed.
