HORTON, James William:
Peacefully in the care of Rowena Jackson Retirement Village on Tuesday 6th May 2025, two days short of his 89th birthday. Loved Grandad of Meg, and Mike O’Connell, and special friend of Marie. Loved Son of Elsie* and Gordon* Horton. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Russell* and Leslie, Ian* and Julie*, Noeline and James* Taylor, Isobel and Brian Pearson, Douglas* and Gail, and Linda and John Burke. A loved family member of his extended family. A service to celebrate James’ life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, Invercargill on Saturday 10th May at 11am, the service will conclude with a burial at the Lynwood Cemetery, Te Anau arriving at approximately 3:30pm. MENLOVE, Glenis Elizabeth (nee Gibson):
Passed away on 30 April 2025, aged 82 years, after a long battle with her health and more recently cancer. Beloved wife of George, dearest Mother of Richard and Glenda (Perth), John and Taya (Westport), Claire and Christian Jaeger (Lochiel), Karen and John Sheddan (Gore) and Barry and Arwel (Wales), cherished grandma of Lucy, Claudia, Christian, Taysha, Aidan, Brodie*, Lochie and Gwen. Special friend and Glenis’ adopted family, John and Karen Titter and Southland grandma of James and Jess, Grace and Daniel. Daughter and sister of Jim and Dot Gibson*, Graeme and Noelene*, Joy and Noel* Mair, John*, Carol and John* Shallard. Daughter-in-law and sister-in-law of Stella* and Tom* Menlove, Mary* and Lyn* Moffat, Stella* and Don* Smith and Amy and John Doran, and a wonderful Aunty to her nieces and nephews. (* denotes deceased) As per Glenis’ wishes a private family funeral and burial have taken place. Glenis is now at peace. The family would like to especially thank Dr Debra Wilson of the Gore Medical Centre. A very special thankyou to Trudy and Sarah, Glenis’ last caregivers at A&E Gore Hospital. Thank you to Amelia and Helen from Hospice Southland for their support. Thank you to all those Access Caregivers who gave Glenis such supported and care over the years. To all of those who cared for, and support Glenis please accept this as a personal thank you. If you wish to donate in memory of Glenis, we ask that these go to the Gore St John’s Ambulance Service.

MOLLOY, Errol Leslie:
Slipped away peacefully at Southland Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday 7th May 2025, aged 84 years. Much loved husband and best friend of Erice for 60 years. Best father and father in law to Carolyn and Pat Flynn, Tracey and Brian Henry, and Grant and Mary. Incredibly loved Grandad to Samara, Daniel and Johanna, Hannah and Jacob, Ella and Chase, and Molly. Loved special person to Jacqui. Errol was a loved brother, brother in law and Uncle. Thank you to the caring staff at Hospice Southland for making our journey the best it could have been. Thank you to Dr Adam for your dedication and care of Errol. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland would be greatly appreciated and can be left at the service. A Memorial Service for Errol will be held on Tuesday 13th May 2025, 1.30pm in J Fraser and Sons Chapel, corner Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill.
