OMEARA, Shona:
It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our mother Shona, of Winton, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Clare House, aged 79 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Frank O'Meara. Loved mother of John and Michelle, Melanie and Kerry Aicken, David, Richard and Becky. Cherished Grandmother of Finn and Rory, Luke, Claire, Heidi and Emily, Jordyn, Harper and Tobin. A service for Shona will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 84 Great North Road, Winton, on Monday, September 15 at 1.00pm. Interment will follow at East Winton Cemetery. McLELLAN, Peter:
Died suddenly at Oamaru Hospital on September 8, 2025, aged 71, with his wife, Joan, by his side. Peter will be sorely missed by Joan, his daughters Leigh and Kerryn, his mother Laureen, his brothers Wayne, Tony, and many other family and friends. Peter will be cremated and a family gathering will take place in Invercargill later this week. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Oamaru Hospital Emergency Room staff during this difficult time.

Sadly Bill passed away on Tuesday 9th September, 2025, aged 82 years. Dearly loved husband of Diane. Loved Dad and 'Oldie' of Nathan (Riversdale), and Bradley and Nicky. Loved Bill of Max and Henry; Tom and Rachael, Kate and Greg and Minnie, Jack and Rhyarna. Loved son of George* and Vera*; and son-in-law of Dorothy* and Norris* Orchard. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Robynne Innes, Marie and Hugh* Stevens; Geoff Orchard and Alison Elliotte, Joan* and John Harrington, Donald* and Jan* Orchard, Norma* and Malcolm* Davis. Loved Uncle of all his nieces and nephews. A service to honour Bill will be held in J Fraser and Sons' Chapel, cnr Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill on Friday 12 September at 2pm, followed by private cremation. Donations to Awarua RSA Poppy Appeal would be appreciated and can be made at the service.
