(Formerly of Otautau) Nolene passed away at Vickery court on Tuesday 26th August 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by family. Dearly loved wife of the late Bill. Much loved mother, mother in law, Nana and Nanny of Janette and Philip, Jamie, Michael, Melissa, Hudson, and Tyler Culling. Judy, David, Chris Goble and Anna, Albie and Matilda Ford. Kay, Darrin, Stephen and Emma Jones. Dearly loved daughter of the late Winifred and Arthur Brown. Loved sister and sister in law of Arthur and Cecily Brown, Eddie and Sunil Brown, Shirley and Kevin* McNeil, Anne Cosgrove, Janice and David White, Trevor and Gwen Brown, Wally and Trish Brown, Dianne and Alistair Murray, Wayne Brown*. Rose and Neil Lawson, Loved sister in law of Jack* Anderson, Patricia* and Mac* Stewart, Dave* Anderson, Olive* and Len* Lovatt. Loved Aunty of all her nieces and nephews. BROWN, Crissie (nee Haslemore):

7/10/1927 – 22/8/2025
Passed away peacefully at Vickery Court, aged 97 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Peter Brown. Loved mother and mother in law of Susan and Gary* Moffatt, Gaye and Jeff Martyn, Lex and Raewyn Brown, Rosalie and Ian Campbell, and Raewyn and Geoff Butt. Loved Nana of Blair*, Sarah, Louise, Melissa, Linda*, Nichola, Michael, Nicola and Kieran. Loved Great Nana of Charlie, Riley, Emily and Taylem. Crissie was a lovely sister, sister in law and Aunty. Family sincerely thank the staff of Vickery Court for their care and compassion of Crissie for the past 5 years. A private service to celebrate Crissie’s life has been held. GRAY, Alexander William (Alex):
Passed away peacefully in the presence of his family, at Southland Hospital, Invercargill on Saturday 23rd August 2025. In his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Beth (nee Wishart). Much loved Dad of Wayne and the late Denise, Sue and Allan Frisby, and Robyn and Brian Haldane. Loved Gramp’s of Sharleen and Kylie, Rochelle and Nolan, Robert and Lauren, Morgan and Dale, Jenna and Jordan, Brandon and Zara, and Matthew. Loved Old Gramp’s of Brock, Cruz, Jack, Blake, Jonty Zara, Keegan, Isla, Payton, Addison, Tayla, Mason, Liam, and Jack. A dearly loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. A service to celebrate Alex’s life will be held in J Fraser & Sons Chapel, cnr Esk & Doon Streets, Invercargill, on Friday 29th August at 1.30pm. Followed by interment at Wallacetown Cemetery. MARSHALL, James:
Formerly of Waikanae. Passed away on August 24, 2025, in Rangiora, aged 85. Jim was surrounded by family and had Lorraine, his wife of 64 years, at his side. Loved father of Stephen and Nicola, and father-in-law of Sarah and Adrian. Truly loved grandfather of Oliver, Brodie, Nicky and Kaley. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Janice and Colin, Diane and Graham. Jim will be remembered by many for his sense of humour. A proud former member of the NZ Police Force.
