It is with deep sadness Shona’s family announce her unexpected passing on July 27,2026 at Southland Hospital. Dearly loved partner of Richard (Sam) Creighton, cherished mother and mother-in-law of Shane (Gilly) and Monica (Glenorchy), Jude and Richard Dinan (Gore), and adored Nana of Adam and Armadine, Becky, Hayley and Adam McIvor, Travis and Briana, and great Nana to CJ, Adasyn, Leo, Harrison, Colton, and Madeline, much loved big sister, sister-in-law, and aunty to all. A wonderful friend to many. Her final game has been played. You will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. As per Shona’s wishes, a private cremation has been held. Family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Southland Hospital for their wonderful care. A service to celebrate Shona’s life will be held on Monday August 3, 2026 at 11am at the Gore Town and Country Club, Esplin Room, 2 Bury Street, Gore. METZGER, Nicholas Graham (Tiny):
Peacefully, after a characteristically slow trek to the finish line, at Hawthorndale Care Village, Invercargill, on 30 July aged 93 years. Treasured son of Nicholas* and Mouru* Metzger (née Haberfield) of Greenhills and Bluff, and brother and brother-in-law of Gary* and Lorraine* Metzger (née White). Beloved husband of Maurine* Metzger (née Tinnock) for nearly 70 years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Paul* and Rosie Metzger (Bluff), Robyn Metzger (Kawerau), and Barbara Metzger and Syd Ball (Bluff). Beloved pōua of Aaron Metzger and Jan Trow (Bluff), Michael Stevens and Emma Wyeth (Dunedin), Lara Stevens and Bob Bowen (Bluff), Hannah Metzger (Bluff), Daniel and Michelle Metzger (Picton), Amy Rosenfeld (Brighton, UK), and his 13 mokopuna tuarua. Tiny was a stalwart and much-respected member of the Bluff community where he lived, loved, and worked for most of his life. Tiny is laying in state on Te Rau Aroha Marae and friends are encouraged to visit. The whānau thanks the exceptional staff at Hawthorndale for their dedicated and professional care. MITCHELL, George Paterson (Snow):
Passed away peacefully on 24 July 2026, aged 90 years. Judith’s loved companion and best friend for 43 wonderful years. Snow was much loved by the Tuhura whānau. A hardworking builder, keen fisherman, horseman and traveller, Snow will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, humour and the many homes and memories he built throughout his life.
Forever loved and sadly missed.
