Fierce protector Mum and Mummy to Kane and Todd, Raiha and Rebekah. Adored Nanny and Nan to Monique, Taila, Shakyla, Ngakau, Mahae and Kyson. Treasured Great Nanny Jan to Anashia, Koda and Kalilah. Granddaughter of the late George Wilson, Daughter of the late Neville Eric Dawson (JP) and Joyce Nichol Wilson. Younger Sister and sister-in-law of Sandra and the late John Mckenzie (JP) (Otautau), and older sister of Grant and Jude Dawson (Tauranga). Treasured Aunty Jan to her nieces and nephews Sarah, Scott, Hannah, Logan, Emma and Graham, Kris and Luke and families. Loyal lover, Loyal friend, Loved by all till her end. A service to celebrate Jan’s life will be held in the Wallacetown Community Centre, 57 Dunlop Street, Wallacetown, on Thursday 6th August 2026 at 11 am and then followed by a burial at The Riverton Cemetery. 18 January 1949 – 31 July 2026
Passed away peacefully following a sudden medical event in Christchurch hospital, surrounded by family and smothered in love from near and far, aged 77 years. Adored Mum and Mother-in-law of Craig and Kristy Thomson, and Ngaire and Damon O'Donnell. Treasured Nan of Matthew*, Makayla, Rhys, Joshua, Cory* and Emma. Cherished third child of John* and Florence* McNamara. Much loved Sister and Sister-in-law of Yvonne* and Kevin* McRae, Des and Coral McNamara, Wendy Wilson, Mervyn* and Diane McNamara, Jacqui and James McKenzie, and Bevan (Spud) and Joy McNamara. Proud Aunt of her many Nieces and Nephews. Carol was a woman of Courage, Adventure, Resilience, Optimism and Loyalty. Always loved and loving and will be forever missed.
