State Highway 96 is closed near Waitane after a truck crash this morning.
The road is shut between the Te Tipua School Road and Brydone-Glencoe Road intersections in Southland. No timeframe for reopening has been given.
A detour is in place. Westbound traffic should take SH96, turn left onto Te Tipua School Road, right onto Brydone-Glencoe Road, then left back onto SH96. Eastbound traffic does the reverse.
Allow extra time if you're travelling through the area.
