An Invercargill Lotto player was among 16 lucky winners who each scooped $15,528 in Second Division during Wednesday night's live draw.

The local winner purchased their ticket through the MyLotto app, sharing the prize pool with 15 other players from across the country.

Meanwhile, two players struck it rich with First Division, each winning $500,000. The winning tickets were sold at Māngere Stationery & Post in Auckland and Pak N Save Riccarton in Christchurch.

Powerball remained elusive, rolling over to Saturday night's draw where the jackpot will climb to $15 million. Strike Four also rolled over and will be worth $1 million on Saturday.

Lotto NZ reminds anyone who bought tickets from the winning stores to check their numbers immediately, either in-store, on MyLotto, or through the MyLotto app.

The timing coincides with Lotto NZ's biggest ever Mother's Day promotion, offering an extra 100 prizes of $30,000 each. All Triple Dip tickets purchased between Sunday 26 April and 7.30pm Saturday 16 May are automatically entered into the special draw.

For the Invercargill winner and other Second Division players, the $15,528 prize represents a welcome windfall during challenging times. The online purchase through MyLotto highlights the growing trend of digital ticket buying among Southland players.

Saturday's $15 million Powerball jackpot is expected to generate significant interest across the region, with many hoping to join the ranks of New Zealand's lottery millionaires.
