Police are asking Southland residents to check their rural properties as the search continues for missing Kapuka farmer Kevin Belling.
Belling disappeared from his Motu Rimu farm in Kapuka on January 9, sparking an extensive search operation involving Land Search and Rescue teams.
Detective Sergeant John Kean said police have completed thorough searches of Belling's property but have not yet located him.
"Other enquiries, including the checking of bank and phone records, have failed to shed light on the possible whereabouts of Kevin," Kean said.
"Police and Kevin's family's concerns for Kevin grow as time passes."
Police are urging rural property owners to remain vigilant and search their land for any signs of the missing man.
"We continue to appeal to anyone who has any information that could help us find him," Kean said.
"Police urge the community to be vigilant and check their rural properties for any signs of Kevin."
Belling's disappearance has prompted widespread concern in the local community, with police maintaining their investigation nearly two weeks after he was first reported missing.
Anyone with information about Belling's whereabouts is asked to contact police online at 105 or call 105, using reference number 260118/6964. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
The search highlights the challenges faced by emergency services in rural areas, where vast properties and difficult terrain can complicate rescue operations.
