Serious Crash: State Highway 1, Dunedin Northern Motorway

State Highway 1, Dunedin Northern Motorway, has been closed following a serious two-vehicle crash.

Police were first advised of the crash at approximately 6.30pm.

Emergency services are on scene.

One person is reported to have critical injuries. 

The motorway is fully blocked, and Police advise motorists to avoid the area and to take alternative routes if possible.

The Serious Crash Unit has been informed.
