Biology student and health content creator Max German says a simple change to his breakfast routine has helped him stay lean, reduce cravings, and feel fuller for longer. In a recent video, German revealed he has eaten the same breakfast every day for more than a year – a meal consisting of beef and eggs.

He describes the approach as "carb hacking" and claims it has dramatically reduced hunger and made maintaining a healthy weight easier. German argues that many popular fat-loss breakfasts, including oats and fruit, contain large amounts of carbohydrates that can trigger blood sugar spikes followed by crashes, leading to increased hunger throughout the day.

According to German, carbohydrate-rich breakfasts cause the body to release insulin, a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar but can also suppress the body's ability to use stored fat for energy.

He also highlights concerns about phytic acid, a naturally occurring compound found in oats that may reduce the absorption of minerals such as zinc and iron. In contrast, German says a breakfast of beef and eggs provides protein, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals without significantly raising blood sugar levels, helping people feel satisfied for longer while supporting fat metabolism.

German also recommends cooking with animal fats such as butter or beef tallow rather than seed oils, which he claims can increase appetite through biological pathways linked to hunger regulation. Alongside dietary changes, he encourages people to start the day with a morning walk, saying it can improve mood, support healthy blood sugar levels, and help establish a positive routine. German believes combining a nutrient-dense breakfast with regular morning exercise can help people better manage hunger, improve energy levels, and achieve long-term health and fitness goals.
